Meet Our Showroom Manager – Tim Pittock27 May 2021
Since our last Meet Our Showroom Manager feature, where we introduced you to Chris Elliott, UK showrooms have been welcoming visitors back through their doors successfully. We’re now able to dine indoors once more, and meet with larger groups of friends and family, and slowly it feels like we are seeing how life once was before the pandemic.
Our showrooms offer a vast collection of natural stone and statement tiles. Our flagship Devizes location features a beautifully furnished kitchen, bathroom, living area and outside space to help you visualise how your project could look. Behind our beautiful Devizes showroom is Tim Pittock our Showroom Manager, who is on hand to offer expert tips and advice. So, who is Tim? Find out more about him below:
Name & location: Tim Pittock, Devizes Showroom.
How long have you worked with Artisans of Devizes? I’ve been part of the team for 7 years now.
What did you do before? I used to sell archaeological equipment.
What do you enjoy most about working with Artisans of Devizes? There’s lots of things I enjoy about my role thanks to its variety, but I particularly love meeting new people and hearing more about their projects. Everyone who steps into our showroom has something different to say, a new challenge to overcome and a fresh way of looking at things.
What are your top three favourite Artisans of Devizes products? With such a large portfolio of luxury products, this is quite a tricky one to answer. I think my first would have to be Zofia in honed finish. I love it for it’s natural colour pallet, meaning it works in all types of schemes.
Next would be Nimes Porcelain. It’s such a good imitation of natural stone and is super durable too, needing little maintenance thanks to its porcelain material.
Last but not least would be our French Blue Marble. It works incredibly well as a statement piece and really gives projects that touch of class and quality.
Have you used any of our products at home? Of course! I actually have a number of our porcelain and natural stone products at home.
What’s been your favourite project you’ve worked on? For me it was an amazing staircase, clad in Zofia honed, which also acted as a floor covering in the hall and landing too. It just flowed so effortlessly.
What’s your top piece of advice you give to a client who visits our showroom? Each project comes with its own challenges, but I would say for any project – choose the floor before choosing your colour schemes. It’s easy to change the shade of paint or wall colour, but not so easy to change the colour of the floor. Generally floor coverings are there for a long time, so its important you find something you’ll never get tired of seeing.
What do you like to do when you’re not working? I’m a hands on person, so am at my happiest when creating and building things!
Both our Devizes and Chelsea showrooms are now open by appointment or you can book a virtual consultation to have from the comfort of your own home. Learn more about our showrooms and book your appointment.
