Design team make all the right moves at this chic London café.
According to the Financial Times, Grand Café Villandry has “a great sense of occasion”.
That’s no accident. The company’s aim is to develop large restaurants in amazing architectural spaces in central London such as St James and Great Portland Street, and employs architect and interior designer William Nickerson to ensure that the environment matches the vision.
“We’ve worked with Artisans on a range of prestigious projects including stately homes, and so we were confident in their ability to source and install a natural stone floor that would complement design features such as the brass tables and semi-circular leather benches.”
We recommended Tora Blue and Keswick limestones with tumbled finish in a chequerboard pattern, and it made a wonderful feature floor – conjuring up images of the classic Parisian café.
