Project Showcase: Luxurious London Living

bespoke marble entrance floor

DESIGNED BY SCHILLER BEYNON

When interior designers Schiller Beynon first opened the double entrance doors to this detached 1950s London property for the first time, they instantly saw a breath-taking marble entrance floor and grand staircase. Yet both were looking rather forlorn, surrounded by worn and tired interiors, which unfolded into the warren of rooms beyond. “It was goosebump excitement to see the house’s potential,” says designer Lisa Schiller. “It had huge volumes, beautiful windows and French doors at every turn waiting to be restored.”

Schiller Beynon Interior Design worked closely with the architect team from floorplans through to the final finishes and furnishings, which included a plethora of Artisans of Devizes’ stone and tile for floors, splashbacks, vanity unit, window sills and more.

“With a trusting client willing to hand over a blank canvas,” adds Lisa, “our design team took the decision to restore the exquisite entrance hall, lending the house a timeless elegance. We then took the monochrome tones in the original marble flooring to influence the rooms beyond.”
